The Metric Challenge takes riders over one mountain – Suck Creek, and over roads in Tennessee. Suck Creek Mountain is a 5 mile gentle climb with its descent coming almost immediately.
Riders will follow the full century course across the Sequatchie Valley with a new right turn over to Valley View Hwy to Mel Dixon to East Valley and Pleasant Grove (new roads — you’re going to love them!). Riders cross the familiar Hwy 41 bridge and split from the century route when going straight on Hwy 41 up the “stair steps”. After a few fun few miles of downhill and rolling terrain, riders will be on familiar roads again — Wauhatchee and Cummings Hwy. (with the security of road cones) and into downtown Chattanooga and to the finish at Finley Stadium.
The route totals 64.8 miles.
